My name is Ian Mansfield and I am enrolled in the BEAD (Bachelor of Education After Degree) program at the University of Regina, with the end goal of becoming a secondary school science teacher. I received a B.Sc. in Geology from the U of R in 2013 and have been employed as a Geologist for the past 7+ years, working in a variety of fields ranging from large scale oil and gas recovery operations to exploration/mining of precious metals.
Though I continue to be successful in the field of geology and have an enduring passion for science, I have been largely unfulfilled and feel as though I was meant for something different. After giving it much thought, I decided that I want to transition into a position where I can apply my knowledge of science while also making a positive impact on the world.
